Village Handcrafters was established to specifically address the needs of churches that are being planted among the extreme poor. Pastors usually lack the necessary resources to effectively impact their desperate communities with the gospel. Drug abuse, unemployment, destructive world view, the debilitating cycle of poverty, lack of medical help, and a dozen other problems face the church and the community. Village Handcrafters was established to address these issues and help the struggling church to be more effective.

Village Handcrafters incorporates a three-phase resource for participating churches.

Phase One - Church-based enterprises
Phase Two - Medical clinics
Phase Three - Comprehensive Community Development including the Eco-habitat
