Bayanihan: Gallon of Care Project Offering Sending Churches the Opportunity to Directly Help the Poor We are often asked how can people help us in our ministry of bringing the Gospel to the needy in the Philippines. The obvious answers are always that you can pray and send financial gifts. But many church groups and families want to find other creative ways to help. Here is one way that you can help. Bayanihan (ba-ya-nee-han), the Filipino value of communal effort, is portrayed by the custom of coming together to help a neighbor move his house from one place to another. Although the load is heavy, it is lightened when many people come together and put their shoulders to the task. In the same way, ACTION Philippines invites you to take action with us as together we carry the ministry of the Gospel and compassionate care to the poor.
Here's how: 1. Organize your church group, family or work place to gather together gallon size ziploc bags with the items listed below. Be sure that each bag has each of the items in the first list and then one of the extra items listed for child or adult. 2. Collect the bags and box them up. If you contact a cargo company, like Forexlisted below, they will provide the box for you or they can give you the dimensions. You can also add to the box old eyeglasses or reading glasses as we can always use them. 3. Ship your box with a shipping company to us in Manila. Address the box like this:
4. Contact us (click here) to let us know what date you shipped your box and we will confirm by email when we receive it. If you ship using surface, it will take 1 to 2 months to get here but the timing doesn't matter. We can use packs like this year round. 5. We will distribute the Gallon of Care packs to many kids and adults who will be thrilled to receive them. 1 gallon ziploc bag filled with the following:
Add one of the following for the children's bags: Small stuffed animal, doll or Hot Wheels type toy Or add one of the following for the adult bags: Small deodorant, Bible highlighters, baseball cap, handkerchief The best way to send the collected items is using a company like Forex. They will ship door to door at a minimal cost. We don't recommend sending through the post office because that is not reliable on this end. There are other companies that you can use for shipping like Fed-Ex, DHL, UPS but shop around for the best price.

ACTION invites you to help us communicate the message that "Jesus loves you!" to needy children, men and women, prisoners, pastors, disaster victims and others. Get your Sunday School class, Bible study group, family or office-mates to collect the items below and assemble gallon gift bags. Then ship them toACTION Philippines. We will distribute them at a camp, in prisons, at Christmas parties, during disaster relief, or at any time when the occasion calls for it.
